Spring Breaks and Escapes in the Burren, Co. Clare

When does Spring begin in 2016?  The answer varies.  According to the Meteorological Season it starts on the 1st March but according to the Astronomical Season and The Old Farmer’s Almanac it is from the 20th March.  Without getting bogged down on which is correct (both really) it does mean that by March lots of plants will have come and gone, such as the snowdrops.  Hopefully the green shoots of the daffodils will be well on their way.  The March hares will be jumping for joy and most of us mere humans may have worked off the excesses of Christmas and the New Year.
