Post Valentine’s Day – ‘A Make Up’ Break!
Oops, so you forgot one or all of the following:
- A Valentine’s Card
- A Bottle of Champagne
- Bouquet of Flowers
- Box of Chocolates
- Book a table for two in your favourite restaurant
Let’s face it you are in trouble and it will take a big gesture to get you back in your loved one’s good books. Fear not; here are two suggestions for a night away with all the trimmings.
Gregans Castle situated half way or half way down the notorious Corkscrew Hill in the heart of the Burren Co. Clare. Here you can breathe in the fresh Atlantic air, dine on some wonderful food with perhaps a glass or two of some fine wine. My suggestion is to go for broke and book a Suite. The colour schemes in these gorgeous bedrooms will ensure that your special someone will put you back in the good books immediately. Not only that but you will stay there 
unless you mess up again by missing another special occasion!
Marlfield House is just over an hour’s drive from Dublin so an easy place to get to for a ‘Make up Break’. The rooms are stunning, particularly the superior rooms, and the décor straight out of one of those glossy magazines. You have a choice with regard to dinner, either in the main Dining Room or less formally in The Duck Restaurant. Either option will please your partner and guarantee you a place in the good books again.
All you need now is an excuse for having forgotten Valentine’s Day in the first place. You could suggest that it was in the middle 
of the week and you thought a weekend night away would be much more romantic…..Good luck!
