Coopershill House – House Party Venue
This year I have decided to ignore February and Valentine’s Day on Wednesday, 14th February. There are several reasons for this – it falls on a Wednesday – Ash Wednesday! Secondly, I think that people are fed up reading advertisements about it – overkill! Trust me I am a romantic but I feel that this Hallmark event has gone quite tacky……..
So….. what to do instead. Wait and focus on March. This is the time of year when we are jettisoning the extremes of winter and are keen to get out on country walks. Spring flowers are in bloom and hints of green are beginning to appear on trees everywhere. Instead of doing a twosome trip why not think about organizing a House Party with friends/family. Coopershill House, situated in Co. Sligo, is without a shadow of doubt the perfect venue for a House Party in Ireland. It is a charming old historic house with polished mahogany tables and real wood fires. The Drawing Room is simply divine with occasional tables laden with jigsaws and classic games such as monopoly. These pastimes never date and everybody from 7 to 100 will have fun playing them. The grounds are the quintessential antidote to winter’s demise and ideal for Spring walks. Nearby there are Neolithic tombs and dolmens to explore including the magnificent Queen Maeve’s cairn on Knocknarea mountain. Those who feel more contemplative might enjoy visiting Yeats’ grave.
Simon and Christina O’Hara, the owners of Coopershill House, will ensure your group will have a House Party to remember for many years to come.
Just don’t forget to bring your wellies with you!
