January Blues Escape!

January can be such a long month after all the excitement of Christmas.  If by any chance you got a Blue Book voucher as a present at Christmas a good suggestion to shorten the middle of winter (yes January is the middle month of the winter season) would be a break at the understated and classy Number One Pery Square in Limerick.

Number One Pery Square have some really interesting offers up on their website.  My favourite on the list is the ‘24 Hour Escape‘ which concentrates on the message of good sleep and food as being restorative to the body and mind; with which I agree entirely.  The Spa No. 1 is a cleverly designed space in the basement of Number One Pery Square where there is a strong emphasis on calm with its natural brick and stonework.  One of the joys you will savour will be the organic Voya products which they use exclusively in this Spa.  Among the extensive list of treatments is a  herbal cocoon, coal bunker sauna, aroma steam room and Irish mist showers.  Never heard of a coal bunker sauna so that’s a new take for me.  Whilst we have been experiencing some outdoor Irish mist showers due to the recent rain I think I would infinitely prefer to have this experience indoors in the warmth of a spa. 

This all sounds like the perfect way to shorten a long month and bring a smile to your face; in spite of the various storms engulfing us since December i.e. Dylan, Eleanor, Finn and Georgina.  Gosh I hope the next one is not named after me!
